Overview

The Patient Identification and Procedure Matching Advisory Committee monitors the systems and strategies utilised to identify patients and correctly match their identity with the correct treatment in Metro South and Health Services.


PRIORITIES FOR THE COMMITTEE

Ensure systems and processes are in place to minimise patient risk and harm, and to improved patient outcomes. Monitor and review best practice and ensure that the organisation is complying with National Guidelines.

 

EXPECTATIONS OF CONSUMER

  • Ability to articulate a consumer perspective and respect and appreciate different perspectives expressed within the committee.
  • Community links and networks that enable an ability to represent the views of a range of consumers.
  • Commitment to positive patient experiences and the delivery of safe, high quality, health services by Metro South Health.
  • Ability to commit sufficient time to participate fully in the work of the Committee - including attending quarterly (1 meeting every 3 months) face to face meetings or participate via teleconference or video conference and reading and reviewing documents in preparation for meetings and comment via email on documents between meetings.
